Debbie Naroff, LSW

As a licensed social worker, Debbie helps people to lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives. Her goal is to assist clients to live with more ease, tap into their inner wisdom, and learn to trust themselves and this unique process. Debbie takes a person centered and humanistic approach to therapy and tailors sessions to meet clients’ specific needs. A passion of hers is to empower people to find their inner voice and use it to advocate for themselves.

Debbie is invested in building an authentic, compassionate and non-judgmental relationship with clients. Together you will identify treatment goals, process difficult emotions, focus on strengths and build tools to achieve those goals. Debbie will work with you to explore and address a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, emotional dysregulation, grief, life transitions and more. 

Therapeutic modalities that Debbie incorporates are a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems, Emotional Freedom Technique and Mindfulness. Since emotions and physical sensations cannot be separated, the mind-body connection is also a very important part of her work. 

Debbie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from State University of NY and Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University and is licensed in the state of NJ. Inspired by the growth experienced as a result of services provided by the mental-health system she chose to pursue a second career in social work. Debbie holds certifications in Adolescent and Adult Mental Health First Aid and has extensive training in women’s domestic violence. She is a Court Appointed Special Advocate, acting as the voice of children who have been victims of abuse and neglect. Advocacy is at the heart of her work, and her extensive experience in this area enables her to teach her clients to be their own best advocate.
